When a favorite TV series is on a break, or when you're still waiting for a week to download that eagerly-awaited episode...what do TV series addicts do? You browse and look for another series!! It's a hit and miss thing actually...for every "Jericho" you find, you find something that really is spectacular. This is why I go nuts waiting every wednesday (airs every Monday night in the US)..loading up my bearshare to download that next episode. The series I'm talking about is "Heroes".
Its a TV show of a group of everyday people who discover along the series that they have super powers. Its the new x-men minus the fancy costumes and special-effects. You won't hear the word mutant here. But instead "special" is the word they use to described ordinary people who discover their extraordinary abilities. It stars a large cast, and has a complex plot, that will keep you wanting more....but I hope it won't go the way of Lost...where viewers got lost too on too much complication. But its off to a great start. I'm on my 14th episode already of Season 1. How cool it could be when a slogan like "Save the cheerleader, save the world" does really matter in plot development....or when your favorite funny character is a Japanese who can bend time named "Hiro Nakamura", who by the way was nominated in the Golden Globes (Masi Oka). If you're looking for effects and stuff, be disappointed...this is a character driven show... The introduction of a new character with powers or revelations of villains, and the Heroes working on their missions (each Hero doesn't know each other yet)...thats what excites and drives me to watch this show. I'm still waiting for the "big picture" that is envisioned by its creator Tim Kring. This early...Twas nominated best drama series, along heavyweights Grey's and 24. Download it...you won't be dissapointed.....if you are...I'll gladly buy you beer.
